Friends of the Mount Whitney Fish Hatchery
Beautiful and amazing historic Mt. Whitney Fish Hatchery is the premier picnic stop on Highway 395 in the Eastern Sierra.
Home of the most architecturally significant building in the Eastern Sierra, the beautiful display pond and tree shaded picnic grounds makes our site the stop of choice for over 30,000 visitors each year.
In addition, the Friends of Mt. Whitney Fish Hatchery have just completed an educational and attractive interpretive center within the historic building with a focus on wildlife of the Eastern Sierra.
Rather for a few minutes or an hour or two, this is a must stop to let the kids burn off some energy, gain some knowledge and let their parents relax out of the vehicle.
